AVEX , TVXQ REUNION AND FAN RESPOND

Recent news on the possibility of  TVXQ‘s reunion is sending shockwaves throughout the industry.
On January 22nd, a Japanese article titled, “Will Avex act as the savior? TVXQ’s reunion project” surfaced. It reported of rumors of a reunion concert at Tokyo Dome orchestrated by Avex, who was previously accused of hindering JYJ ‘s Japanese activities. In light of Avex’s recent under-performing releases, it is said that they are willing to go head with this project and stop hindering JYJ’s Japanese activities. Japanese superstar Ayumi Hamasaki is rumored to be negotiating on behalf of both sides.
While the news of a possible reunion is being met with enthusiasm by fans all over the world, many are skeptical of the chances of such a reunion actually occurring. The fact that this reunion is being orchestrated by Avex instead of SM Entertainment is also a cause of skepticism.
The article goes on to state, “While the reunion of TVXQ is something that many fans are waiting, the small possibility of this actually happening is an indicator of Avex’s desperation,” hinting that Avex’s recent lack of success may be reason for pursuing such an unlikely project.
TVXQ fans responded to the news with, “While it would be great if reunion happens, it seems unlikely“, “They say Avex will lead the project but I can’t trust them“, and “I hope they stop writing these pointless reunion articles“.
As no official statements have been released from any parties, it’s important to wait for these rumors and speculations to be confirmed. Stay tuned to allkpop as we await developments on this matter.

AVEX to act as the savior and reunite TVXQ?
Posted on January 24, 2012 by JYJ3
JYJ3 Note: Nikkan Cizo is a Japanese Tabloid that reported about the possible reunion of THSK through AVEX . Please take the information with a grain of salt.

The day the five people together again is coming?

Early in the year Avex was shaken by the news of Ayumi Hamasaki’s divorce announcement and in the end the project of reuniting Tohoshinki was brought to surface.

“Avex crammed Ayumi’s PV since debut and special video footages into a DVD-Box and put it on sale on New Year’s Day. We can see that Avex and Ayumi is battling it out, using the hot excellent card of ‘divorce’” (Music insider)

Also, along with Ayumi, Avex’s ace, EXILE also put out their PV compilation at the same time, but it seems that so far the sales didn’t reach their target.

“Adding to the continuous recession in the music market, time has come that (one) cannot sell based only on music. Avex changed their strategy to adding the special edition PV from previous albums etc as freebies and extensively marketing it. It’s okay since Ayumi is under their management, but EXILE and Amuro Namie aren’t from their company and are under other management, they do not get much profit.” (Music insider)

Speaking of other management, Avex is the one in charge for Tohoshinki who belongs to Korea’s ‘SM Entertainment’ and are the ones in charge of their (Tohoshinki) extensive promotional activities in Japan, thus growing them up to par as their own artist. But, due to the conflicts regarding to their contract with SM, 3 members parted from the original 5 members group and they are currently doing their activities under the name JYJ. But it seems that there is a project in reuniting the 5 members.

“The recent Tohoshinki consist of Yunho and Changmin, but the most popular member in Japan is JYJ’s Jaejoong. Initially, Avex had a contract with JYJ’s management but due to a person with ‘dark background’ the contract was abruptly halted. Due to that reason, JYJ’s activities in Japan ceased and last year, due to the Tohoku Great Earthquake Charity Concert, they are facing another dispute in court. In addition to that, they are also being dragged into the false charity party for Tohoku Great Earthquake thus the continuous trouble. In Korea, using their power, SM has restricted JYJ’s appearance in (TV) programs but their ability to attract audience is undeniably huge. Therefore, as a hypothetical solution to JYJ’s trouble is a project to bring about the five members in live concert at a big place like Tokyo Dome. It seems that Avex who is losing ‘sellable’ stuff’s savior is to make it (the project) possible. But, due to JYJ’s affiliation to the rumored ‘dark acquaintances’, it seems that it would not carry through.” (Weekly magazine reporter).

And it appears that the ones who ‘bought’ the project’s story is Ayumi.

“Ayumi originally is really close to JYJ to the extent of collaborating with Junsu’s twin brother, Junho in a song for her album. During last year’s Avex’s live event, A-Nation, the 2-members of Tohoshinki complained that ‘they do not want to stand on stage with Junho’, thus rendering the planned collaboration. Via Twitter, Avex received a lot of complaints. There are those rumors that Ayu is the middle person in coordinating for both parties to meet halfway for the sake of reunion. (Weekly magazine reporter).

Even when there’s a lot of fans who wish for the five’s reunion, realistically it is a difficult project and it seems that Avex is in a difficult situation.

[KOREAN NEWS] 120124 AVEX to act as the savior and reunite TVXQ?
On January 22nd, TVXQ fans all over the world were greeted with an article discussing the possibility of a reunion. A Japanese media outlet posted the article with the title, “Can AVEX be the Savior? The theory of TVXQ’s reunion project.” An official reported, “On the dawn of New Years, it was announced that AVEX and Ayumi Hamasaki are participating in TVXQ’s reunion project.” This came after AVEX reported low sales of their ballad tracks recently.
A magazine reported in Japan stated, “Japan’s most popular member is Jaejoong. Previously JYJ has had problems with AVEX hindering their activities in Japan. He continued by saying that some people are still skeptical that a reunion will actually happen, given the current and past situations between the companies and their groups.
The reporter also mentioned, “Previously, there were disputes with the charity concert that JYJ wanted to hold in Japan after the Earthquakes last year. He also noted that even though there are plenty of fans to support the project, it may still be hard for AVEX to come through on the project and see that the reunion happens.
The reunion is rumored to be a concert that will be held at the Tokyo Dome. Ayumi Hamasaki is currently working as the negotiator on the project. The project is also rumored to include JYJ’s acquaintances such as Junsu’s twin brother Juno.
Netizens have commented, “I am excited that it has gotten this far already,” “I hope this goes through,” “I don’t think AVEX can pull this off,” and “I hope we can see a reunion concert this year!”

Marra M. Kerswell Does anyone stop to think as to whether they want to get back together. I mean if you followed the break up and read the interviews you would see as Jaejoong put it "...alot of misunderstandings...". Although it would be a good marketing stratergy SM would stip TVXQ of their status before letting them preform with JYJ - unless there was something in it for SM.
